The holiday season transforms Tampa Bay into a winter wonderland of twinkling lights, festive displays, and magical experiences! A note on dates: we updated this guide in September 2026. ZooTampa, Busch Gardens, Water Street, the Riverwalk boat parade, and the Wonderland of Lights drive-thru have posted their 2026 dates, and we've listed them below. For the other displays, we show last season's (2025) dates until the 2026 dates are announced, so confirm on each official site before you go.

Drive-thru Christmas lights in Tampa

If you want to see lights without getting anyone out of their car seat, these are the drive-thru options around Tampa Bay. Pajamas are allowed. Nobody checks.

A few notes from checking each one:

• Festival of Lights is the closest big show to Tampa, about 2 miles of lights on the Dover fairgrounds. Tickets have been sold online and at the gate. Watch hillsboroughcountyfair.com for 2026 dates. The Hillsborough County Fair runs on the same grounds November 5–15, 2026, so the lights can't open before that.
• Wonderland of Lights has already posted its 2026 dates and prices on thewonderlandoflights.com. The drive takes 20–30 minutes at 2–3 mph, and you have to stay in the car. Dogs can ride along.
• Lights of Lake Park is a neighborhood display in its 33rd year. The organizers' FAQ says traffic is lightest at 6 p.m. and early in December. The week before Christmas is the slowest crawl.

Not drive-thru, even though people often assume it is: Christmas Lane in Plant City is a walk-through event with most displays inside, priced per person. ZooTampa's Christmas in the Wild and Busch Gardens Christmas Town are also on foot.

Despite the name, Christmas Lane isn't a drive-thru. You park and walk through indoor displays, with a KidZone (face painting, letters to Santa, ornament coloring) included in the ticket. The Living Nativity is outside behind the building. christmaslane.com still showed 2025 details when we checked in September 2026.
